Mollie Megaffin

Fiber/Acrylic/Pastel

My bio is not about awards and acceptances... It is about what inspires me to create.

Painting is primary but I also enjoy colored pencil, pen & ink, pastel, collage with antique and contemporary
papers, and so on.

As well as fine art, fabric art is very important. Sewing fine outfits for grandchildren and completely non-conservative
quilts are a joy to me. Coordinating multiple fabrics is  as challenging ant stimulating as paint. Creating with yarn is pure
relaxation. Added to my regular expressions of art is some dabbling in jewelry, glass, etching,  and Raku pottery...some results not
so great but successes have been rewarding.

Organization memberships include

Connecticut Watercolor Society
Connecticut Pastel Society
Kent Art Association
Colored Pencil Society of America
Canton Artists Guild.

Subject matter ranges from Maine seascapes, Connecticut countryside, portraiture, and some abstract thrown in for variety. Flowers enter into the realm upon occasion.

I am self-taught and adhere to no rules...I enjoy making my own. My work is in private and corporate collections in the United States
and Europe.
